A Day Long Workshop on ‘Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD)’ at Khulna

 

 

KK Foundation (KKF) in collaboration with ‘Thoughts’ organized this daylong workshop on ‘Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD)’ at the auditorium of Hotel Castle Salam, Khulna on 14th September 2019. This is a tailor made course by KK Foundation and Thoughts to enhance the capacity of the high schools students

As a part of the pilot programs, KKF jointly trained 48 students from the four leading high schools of Khulna City. The schools are Govt. Coronation Secondary Girls School, Khulna, Govt. Khulna Zilla School, Khulna, Govt. Model High School, Khulna and St. Joseph’s High School, Khulna.

The workshop was divided into two segment. The first part was briefing on resolving a critical problem/crisis or taking an initiative. Mr. Md. Mahbubul Alam, Chairman, Thoughts conducted the session. In his speech he highlighted how to do brainstorming efficiently, how to assess a problem and decide what fits best and for smooth execution what sorts of execution plan is required. The second part of the workshop focused on Entrepreneurship Development. This session was taken care by Ms. Sifat E Azam, Executive Director, KK Foundation. The main purpose of this session was to motivate the senior school students towards entrepreneurship development. Studying entrepreneurship benefits students and learners from different social and economic backgrounds because it teaches people to cultivate unique skills and think outside the box.

To make it more effective, in both the sessions participants were divided into groups and individual group received individual topics. In a group together they followed the steps and solved the issue. At the end of the group work the participants presented their topic among the audience.

Students tried to provide the participants with the skills and knowledge to come up with business ideas and develop their own ventures. And this includes helping them to learn basic information of the business areas such as finance, sales, marketing, management and accounting, not to mention, broader ranging skills such as adaptability, effective communication, and confidence.
